Scillia Photography is excited to offer this Fundraiser for the Trappe Historical Society for an exclusive Mini Portrait Session Dec 03 at the Muhlenberg House in Trappe. We'll be using an antique farm sled circa 1880 to create some unique portraits of you and your family. The sled was purchased from the Rittenhouse Farm estate by Albert Zvarick. Pope John Paul II High school now resides on part of the former farmland. John Zvarick donated the sled in 2015  to the Historical Society as a fitting home for this" one of a kind" example of farm transportation in the 1800's.

This Fundraiser for the Trappe Historical Society will help towards much needed repairs for the roof and heating system. Taking Portraits and blending history into the process is rewarding and offers families an experience to step back in time. In 2000, the Muhlenberg house was included in the National Register of Historic Places after years of community participation and support to restore the house to its original 1776 state at a cost of over a million dollars. Having such an historical landmark within our local community is a treasure. Sharing with our children how people lived and worked brings appreciation for our history and "taken for granted" modern amenities.

The history of the house is fascinating as is Henry Melchior Muhlenberg and his family in Revolutionary times. Visit the Trappe Historical Society's website and read about an excerpt from the writings of Henry Muhlenberg and the house purchase in 1776. (http://trappehistoricalsociety.org/refuge.html).

The  Muhlenberg Visitor Center and Gift shop will be open during the Photo Session. Consider to become a member of the Trappe Historical Society during your photo visit. House tours are offered on an ongoing basis.
